A Little Bit About Us

Welcome to Hyperbaric Health and Healing

At Hyperbaric Health and Healing, our mission is simple: to provide every client with a tailored Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) programme designed to enhance health, recovery, and overall wellbeing.

Our Story

We are Jennie and Colin, and HBOT has been a part of our lives for over eight years.

Jennie began using HBOT following breast cancer surgery, finding it invaluable in managing lymphedema.

Colin has used HBOT consistently to support general health and vitality.

We both feel the benefits have been profound, and it’s this personal experience that inspired us to share HBOT with others.

A Recent Addition, 2 ATA hard chamber

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – Now Available in Our New Hard Chamber

We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new hard chamber at our clinic, capable of delivering Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at pressures up to 2 ATA. This enhanced setting allows a greater amount of oxygen to dissolve into the blood plasma, supporting deeper tissue oxygenation.

Our team has undergone specialized training to safely operate at these higher pressures.

Please note that this chamber and pressure level may not be suitable for every condition or individual. Following an assessment, we will recommend the most appropriate therapy option for your needs.

What to Expect From Your HBOT Session?

Once you have been assessed for your suitability for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, you’ll be helped into the chamber, ready to start your therapy, which usually lasts for around 80 minutes in total.

We will slowly increase the pressure in the chamber using normal air, checking on you constantly. The pressure can be reduced at any time to ensure you are comfortable. Throughout the therapy, you’ll be breathing enriched oxygen through a mask or nose canular.

During the pressurisation phase, some ear discomfort may be experienced (just like in an aeroplane or diving deep into water), our trained staff will explain this before your therapy session and will share various methods how to resolve this.

Generally, your heart rate will lower as the chamber pressurises giving you a strong feeling of relaxation.

After the session time has finished, the pressure will be slowly decreased, and you will be helped from the chamber.

Your body will be full of rich oxygen flowing through your red blood cells and blood plasma. Most people will feel relaxed and energised after a therapy session. However, a small percentage of people report a short period of tiredness. Normally this is only for around 10 minutes they then feel re-energised and ready to carry on as normal.

People often report having their best night’s sleep after when they have the therapy in the evening, before going to bed, due to the significant reduction in resting heart rate.

We can arrange a short trial session to ensure you and your body are compatible with HBOT. There is a small charge for this, to cover the costs of cleaning and sterilising the chamber after use.
